Until 2019, our simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services (conferences, meetings, committees) mostly involved sending our teams of interpreters to work face-to-face with our clients. Even though we offered the choice of remote interpreting solutions, few clients dared to take this step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Covid-19 pandemic completely reversed this trend, and we were able to deploy innovative technological solutions for remote interpreting very quickly, enabling our clients to keep meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here is an example of one of the remote interpreting assignments we carried out recently during a major group\u2019s European works council meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To meet the needs of one of our French clients, we deployed eight interpreters working in Italian<\/strong>, Portuguese<\/strong>, English<\/strong> and German<\/strong>. They were all together in a booth<\/strong>, but working remotely in a recording studio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This configuration enabled us to deliver interpreting conditions very similar to a face-to-face assignment, with faultless sound quality<\/strong> thanks to the qualified technicians<\/strong> present throughout the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Using an interpreting platform<\/strong> specially designed to manage and organize multilingual meetings, the participants were able to follow the European works council meeting in their native languages<\/strong>. These assignments require the technical and project management teams to be prepared in advance to train the interpreters and participants in how to use the chosen platform.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n These training sessions, lasting one or two hours, are vital to ensure the meeting takes place smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Result: fully satisfied<\/strong> clients and flexible, agile<\/strong> interpreters who have successfully adapted to the shifts<\/strong> in their role despite the complex situation facing their profession.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Clients can now choose between face-to-face<\/strong> and remote solutions<\/strong> for their meetings and conferences, even after the pandemic, if working remotely can add real value in terms of logistical organization.
