PDF can be costly
Though PDF has become the standard for document transmission (B2B and B2C), it can be a costly format for translation.
As we explain in our blog post on best practice when requesting a quote, it is more efficient for you to send us a file in a native, editable format (such as Word, InDesign, PPTX, Excel, etc.), because PDF files have to undergo a page layout process before translation. As this is not a native format, and its contents cannot be edited, our graphics specialists have to prepare the file in full to avoid unstable page layouts (misplaced section breaks, column breaks, images etc.) in the translation. The same applies to non-editable images that cannot be modified with a click, which we prepare in Photoshop to ensure the same level of quality as the original image.
A native file is more efficient for you both financially and in terms of productivity – as soon as we receive the file, the translation project can begin without having to go through the page layout stage.
Of course, if you do not have the native file, our teams will be happy to offer a fast, low-cost page layout service for your PDF file.
Is the layout of your files a key factor for you? Put your trust in Caupenne & Co. and its teams to ensure your files are reproduced identically, whatever their format.
